Blue Jeans and Bling Benefit Slated for May 14
By Maria Kletchka, Resident of The Fords

Please join us for the second annual Blue Jeans and Bling to Benefit The Spring Gala. The event will be hosted at Stone Chase Restaurant in Westchase on May 14 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a delicious dinner buffet, cocktails (including the signature Blingtini), dessert and raffle prizes. Dance the night away with the help of our fantastic DJ, who will be playing the hottest dance music all night long!

Westchase resident Maria Kletchka hosted the first benefit in her home last May. “I wanted to host a ladies’ night to honor many of the great women in my life. During the planning, it became more than just having a good time. It was an opportunity for us to pay it forward by helping and empowering other women.”

This year a team of women is working together to make this charitable event bigger and better. “I have had the pleasure of being a part of some fantastic events in the past, but this one is going to be near and dear to my heart,” says West Park Village resident Angie Whitmore. “It is not only going to be a great party, but we are also going to be helping change the lives of women and children in our community. Our goal is to have 100 women attend.”

The Spring Wish List

Women’s and Children’s Toiletries
Towels, Washcloths and Twin Sheets
Make-up and Hair Care Products (African American
   and Caucasian)
Baby Formula, Wipes, Diapers and Food
Cleaning and Laundry Supplies
Craft Items for Kids
Women’s and Children’s Clothing (New or Gently Used)
Snacks

The Spring of Tampa serves the needs of women and children who are emotionally and physically abused and offers them shelter, clothing and emotional support. Linda Hess, Community Liaison for The Spring, will attend the gala and describe how this amazing organization has changed the lives of thousands of families in Tampa Bay. “I am thrilled to be a part of this great event,” Hess said. Hess has also arranged to have The Spring’s donation truck in the Stone Chase parking lot to collect items. “We are always in
need of toiletries, clothing and baby items since we house families for quite some time,” said Hess.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their blue jeans and sparkling bling. At the door a $35 entry donation and donations from The Spring’s Wish List will be collected. Local merchants will participate by donating fantastic raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will be on sale at the event for $1 each. All proceeds will go directly to The Spring.

“We almost filled a truck last year with all the donations. I was amazed how everyone came together to help,” said Kletchka. “I am so excited to see what the women of our community will do this year.”

So, ladies, don’t miss this awesome event! Get your girlfriends together, get on your blue jeans and bling, and join the fantastic women of our community at Stone Chase for a night of dinner, dancing and “women helping women.”

Your R.S.V.P. is strongly encouraged and appreciated. For more information, please contact Maria Kletchka at mariak@tampabay.rr.com or 597-6013.
