Davidsen Middle School

Davidsen Welcomes Back Dragons and Staff

Davidsen’s Dragons are back in their classrooms and the school year is off to a great start!

Davidsen’s teachers returned on Aug. 16 and were greeted with a Welcome Back Breakfast. We offer our special thanks to the Hospitality Committee and all volunteers who donated their time to show support for our amazing staff.

On Aug. 20 new and returning students were welcomed back at the annual Sneak Peek. Students picked up schedules, met the teachers and caught up with their classmates after the long summer. As always, we thank all the volunteers who helped get the new school year off to a great start.

Our first PTSA general meeting will take place on Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the school
cafeteria. Join us for the meeting and learn the latest information from our Internet Social Network experts. This is sure to be a meeting no middle school parent will want to miss.

Also mark your calendar for the Volunteer/Business Partner Breakfast to be held Sept. 23. This is a terrific way to learn about all the volunteer opportunities available at Davidsen and all the activities hosted by the PTSA.

Many wonderful events are planned for the 2010-2011 school year and volunteers are needed to make these programs successful. The PTSA has dances, honor roll breakfasts, Red Ribbon Week, the Medieval Fair and many other activities planned. The first event of the year will be the fall dance, which will be held on Oct. 22. Help is needed to sell tickets, decorate or chaperone. If you are interested in helping in any way or have any questions, please contact Nancy Ostrowski at dmsvols@aol.com.

Don’t forget to pick up your Community Discount Card. These cards are just $10 and can be used repeatedly for great discounts at local businesses. Many new businesses have been added this year and it’s a great way to support Davidsen while saving money at many of the restaurants where you eat already. Prizes will be given away to all students who sell one card and special prize drawings will be held for those who sell more.

Here’s to a terrific 2010-2011 school year for all our Dragons!
