Westchase Artists Explore Photoshop Elements
As part of their August group meeting, members of the Westchase Artists Society took part in a mini-workshop on Adobe Photoshop Elements presented by group member Teresa Trubilla. Photoshop Elements is a software program that enables photography enthusiasts to edit, organize and share images. The introductory workshop covered the basic functions of the various tools available in the program. A follow-up workshop is planned for the coming months to cover more details about editing images and working with layers and filters.
New Officers and Business
Former Vice President Wayne Barrett was elected to fill the vacancy of president that was left open when Dean Mackey resigned for personal reasons. Bob Richardson was then elected to serve as the new vice president. Judy Freeman volunteered to fill the position of meeting coordinator.
Plans are underway for several art shows and sales that members will be participating in this fall. An artists’ reception is in the works for the ongoing group exhibit at the Jewish Community Center.

On Sept. 12 from 2-3 p.m. Brenda Ambrosino will demonstrate “Assemblages – Dimensional Art.” On Sept. 19 from 2-3 p.m. Michael Crabb will discuss “Drawing – The Artist's Eye.”
