Casino Night Proves a Successful Fund-Raiser

If you missed it, February’s Casino Night to Remember was a blast!

The Westchase Elementary Ways and Means Committee would like to thank the families, teachers and staff for their support in a very successful fourth Casino Night to Remember on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Bayanihan Arts and Event Center. The event raised money to enhance computer technology at Westchase Elementary.

Everyone had an amazing time. We thank M.J. Kramer, Carolyn Reynolds, and Tim Swartos, who spent countless hours on this event to raise money for our school. We also thank the local restaurants that participated in A Taste of Westchase, including Tijuana Flats, Pizza Fusion, Maloney’s Local, Catch 23, StoneChase, Coastal Kitchen, Surf Shack, Little Greek, Sans, Cici’s, Java Bean Coffee and Sweet Tweets Cakery. Last, we thank our major sponsors Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach,, Carolyn Reynolds and Coldwell Banker, Aguiar Plastic Surgery, DeVito Orthodontics, Dominion Payroll Services, Accell, Kumon at Citrus Park, Smith Fries Foundation, Perfectly Bare Laser and Pamela F. Patterson, StateFarm Agent. Look for a recap of the evening in pictures in next month’s WOW.

Westchase Elementary is honoring Mrs. Mik by holding a book drive the week of Feb. 27-March 2, in remembrance of what would have been her 60th birthday. Students can purchase a book label for $20 to be put in a brand new hardcover book that will be placed in our Media Center. At the time of purchase, students and families will sign the book label in honor of Mrs. Mik. The labels will be for sale each morning in the courtyard. (Please make all checks out to Westchase PTA and in the memo section write "Mrs. Mik Book Drive.")
Additionally, a PTA representative will be selling the labels in the courtyard on March 1 during conference night. In conjunction with the book drive for our Media Center, we will also be collecting new or gently used books to send to Just Elementary in memory of Mrs. Mik. Books may be dropped off in the courtyard each morning or on conference night.

Junior Achievement volunteers are still needed for a few classes. If you have a few hours to spare to come in and teach a business class to our students, please contact
