Public Notice of Chelmsford Guideline Change

Chelmsford is proposing a change to its village-specific guideline for fences. The proposed changes, if adopted, will affect only residents in Chelmsford.

Chelmsford is seeking to change the rules for permissible fence materials. If adopted, the proposed change would allow “composite fencing” in addition to the permitted shadowbox materials noted in Section 2.2.15(A)(1) of Westchase’s Single Family Residential Guidelines. Chelmsford’s fence design elements would remain the same as those found in the Westchase Residential Guidelines for shadowbox fences. Under the proposed rule, the composite fences must be wood-tone or weathered wood-tone in color.

Once approved in the subdivision by a majority of Chelmsford homeowners, the change must also win approval of two-thirds of voting members (VMs) present at a meeting called to consider the changes. Final consideration of the Chelmsford rule change is expected at the Feb. 7 meeting of the Westchase Voting Members
