Seniors to Enjoy Movie Night Feb. 8

Westchase Seniors are invited to the Westchase Swim and Tennis Center on Feb. 8 to watch the funniest and happiest movie you will likely see this year.

Secondhand Lions is a coming-of-age story about a shy, young boy. He’s sent by his irresponsible mother to spend the summer with his wealthy, eccentric old uncles, who live on an extremely remote and primitive ranch in Texas and who don't know anything about raising children. The movie will start at 5:30 p.m. at the swim and tennis center’s meeting room. Lewis and Rama Patterson are hosting this seniors (55 plus) activity and ask that you bring some type of finger food for everyone to share during the movie. Soft drinks, tea and water will be furnished. The movie is PG rated and one hour and 45 minutes long. Come, bring some friends and enjoy an evening of laughter with your neighbors.

Remembering the 1990s Each year the Westchase Seniors Group throws a party to remember and celebrates a decade from our past. Last month Bette Vance, Anita Steinfeld, and Phyllis Kanik hosted a pizza party and took our thoughts back to the 1990s. Bette Vance, with her usual excellent memory, helped us seniors with minds of steel to recall how exciting and important the 90s decade was.

By the way, seniors with minds of steel have worlds of information locked up in their brains. It just sometimes takes us awhile to find the right key to get into all that locked-up memory. One of the great benefits of becoming a senior is the flood of fond memories that brings smiles and laughs to our hearts and faces when we find the right keys. Thank you, Bette, Anita, and Phyllis, for another very enjoyable and well-attended seniors party.
