WCA Treasurer Details Budget Process to VMs

The May 9, 2017, Westchase Voting Members (VMs) meeting had a short agenda, which resulted in a very short meeting. At the session WCA Treasurer Forrest Baumhover detailed the upcoming budget process to produce the association's 2018 spending plan.

Initial approval for Glencliff Villas Paint Guideline was quick and unanimous.

Next, Forrest Baumhover, the Westchase Community Association Treasurer, described the upcoming budget process.  He said that there will be a WOW article, including an FAQ document, in the July issue that would inform residents about how the association’s budget process works.  A proposed budget should then appear in the August WOW, which will give residents a few weeks to speak to their VMs about it before the association’s September budget workshop. Baumhover said that if anyone had questions, issues or wanted to contribute to the FAQ document, they should speak with him.

WCA President Ruben Collazo announced that the Covenants Committee, which imposes fines for unresolved deed restriction violations, will have an opening in July. Interested residents should contact the Community Association Manage Debbie Sainz at 926-6404.

VM Cynde Mercer (The Bridges) explained that she had spoken at last month’s board meeting about the availability of either pool for residents because of swim team usage.  She said that she felt that the WCA should make sure that a pool is always available for residents.  She is planning to ask that the pool be opened for early morning swim.  She said she will be asking for additional funding required in the budget and wanted VMs to consider it.

VMs adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
