Westchase Alley Cats Wins the USTA Championship

The Westchase USTA Ladies 3.0 Tennis Team took first place in all of Hillsborough County. The Westchase USTA Ladies 3.0 Tennis Team, the Westchase Alley Cats recently won first place in Hillsborough County for the Fall 2012 USTA Season. It was a fantastic season for the Westchase women tennis players.

After finishing the regular season in first place with an 11-1 record, then won the ladies 3.0 division playoffs in a tournament against Brandon on Saturday, Dec. 17. There the team won four out of the five lines playing, capping the best seasons in the team’s history!

The team consists of  Carmen Fiorito, Nancy Weaver, Dyan Pithers, Linda Campbell, Jennifer Strawser, Allison Wipfli, Kyle Roberts (Team Captain), Christa Moody (Co-Captain), Christina Hong, Dawn Dobish, Karen Semaan, Jennifer Joyner, Stephanie Cook, Danielle Teague and Tuyen Tran.

The USTA Westchase Alley Cats 3.0 team competes with tennis clubs throughout Hillsborough County in weekly matches on Monday mornings at 9 a.m. The team consists of women of all ages who have picked up the game after years of not playing or who are relatively new to tennis. To keep themselves fit and ready for the weekly tournaments, they participate in additional team practice drills and pick-up games throughout the week.
