Westchase Birthday Celebration Oct. 29

This year Westchase turns 20 and you’re invited to the biggest birthday celebration around!

On Saturday, Oct. 29, from 3-7 p.m., WOW is throwing a party to celebrate all that is great about our community. All residents are invited to join the fun on the West Park Green on Montague Street for a celebratory street party.

The party will be held on the afternoon of the tenth anniversary running of The Great West Chase 5K and Children’s Fun Run.

On the afternoon of the race the West Park Green will be filled with tents and vendors offering fun games, arts and crafts and delicious food and drink. During the party, residents will enjoy great entertainment from local live bands and glee clubs, a display by the Westchase Artists Society, a magician, balloon animals, face painting and much more. In addition, WOW will be providing bounce houses for the kids as well as a rock-climbing wall and bungee jumping on trampolines.

As the party is occurring during the dinner hour, WOW has also invited local restaurants and groups like the Westchase Rotary to participate in the celebration by selling food items and beverages. A beer truck will even be available to quench the adults’ thirst.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a birthday without cake, so all residents who join the fun will get a piece!

When the sun sets at 6:45 p.m., the party will continue with a family-friendly movie on an enormous inflatable screen. All residents are invited to bring their chairs and blankets, kick back and enjoy the fun.

While party plans are still being formulated, a local restaurant has indicated a desire to keep the party going after the movie by providing another band.

WOW is still seeking businesses and local groups interested in sponsoring the fun while participating with a vendor display and activity. Interested entities should contact WOW Business Manager Tracy Urso at 926-0596.

Help us celebrate Westchase’s 20th by marking your calendar for Oct. 29! Don’t miss the party!
