Westchase VMs Approve Three Guidelines

In a very brief meeting that preceded the Westchase Association’s Aug. 20 budget workshop, Westchase Voting Members (VMs) took their final votes on three amendment to Westchase and neighborhood-specific guidelines.

In all cases, the 20 VMs present cast unanimous votes.

Continuing the recent trend of Westchase neighborhoods upgrading their original white, wood mailboxes to black metal mailboxes, VMs gave final approval to the change in Abbotsford and Chelmsford in separate votes.

Turning to a Westchase-wide guideline sparked by a recent decision by the Villas of West Park Village to repaint their concrete front porches the original gray painted by the builders, VMs approved an amendment to the color palette guideline, which previously did not mention exterior porch floors. That amendment permits existing homes with painted porch floors to repaint them a standard gray color.

At their meeting, VMs also heard a brief presentation by Kim Herd on the Guardian ad Litem program. That program pairs trained volunteers with children in Hillsborough County’s abuse and neglect system to provide the children with an advocate that communicates their best interests to the local court system. Ms. Herd stated the program is currently looking for more volunteers. For more information, see
