Deer Park Dedication on May 4

It is hard to believe that it’s almost time for summer vacation. Our
Deer Park Rangers have worked very hard all year and have made us proud!
On April 3 Deer Park held its Annual Field Day, where the children had a
great time. We thank Coach Jill Brown and the parents and teachers who
helped out, including (but not limited) to Mrs. Tamboe, Mrs. Lee, George
Casteris and AnnMarie.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9. The PTA will be hosting a
breakfast, lunch and desserts for the teachers, and there will be
various individual classroom activities. Please take a moment during
this week to let your teachers know you appreciate them.
Our Spring Book Fair is May 12-16 and Deer Park will host its second
Kindergarten Roundup on May 13.
The PTA’s last general assembly meeting will be on May 15. We will be
electing our new board officers, as well as having an art show. There
are still PTA board and committee positions that we are looking to fill
for the upcoming school year. Serving on a committee or the board is a
great way to get to know your school better. Please join us for this
important evening.
Congratulations to our graduating class
of fifth graders! Thank you for all that you’ve done at
our school and the great legacies you’ll be leaving
behind. We will miss you all tremendously and wish you
the best of luck in middle school!
The last day of school is June 4 and it is an early
release day. We thank all the parents, families,
volunteers, teachers and business partners who supported
Deer Park this entire year. Please make sure to check
our Web site,
www.deerparkpta.org, over the summer for regular
updates on upcoming orientations, uniform sales and
events.
In the meantime, please save the dates of May 3 and May
4. On May 3 is the Westchase Garage Sale to Benefit Deer
Park. Donations, volunteers and dads with trucks are all
needed, so please consider volunteering. At the fall
garage sale we made just over $1,400! And on May 4 all
families, past and present, are invited to Deer Park
Elementary School’s Dedication at 4 p.m.
