WCA Board Approves Next Food Truck Rally

Responding to residents’ enthusiastic reception of Westchase’s first food truck rally this past spring, the WCA Board is organizing another June 6. Opening the May 10 meeting of the Westchase Community Association (WCA) Board of Directors, however, was a Fords resident, who inquired what could be done about an abandoned house that has been long neglected and is now an eyesore.

VMs Pass New Mailbox Requirement for The Shires

At the May 8 meeting of the Westchase Voting Members VM Patrick Knight (The Shires) expressed relief at winning VMs’ final approval of his neighborhood’s proposed mailbox amendment. Knight related that he had spent many hours researching costs and getting his homeowners’ votes in the effort to change the mailbox guideline.

Westchase Soccer Wins New Season at Glencliff Park With No Schedule Changes

Three months of debate regarding the Westchase Soccer Association’s impact on parking within Glencliff came to a close at the May 1 meeting of the Westchase Community Development District (CDD). After hearing nearly two hours of discussion from residents and supervisors on both sides of the issue, CDD supervisors voted 4-1, with Supervisor Bill Casale in opposition, to renew the soccer association's exclusive right to use Glencliff Park fields for its 11-week fall season. The four hour meeting also saw supervisors adopt a preliminary budget for 2013 to establish a high water mark for county property tax notices.

UTB Library to Nearly Double in Size

Within days of its dedication seven years ago, supporters of the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Library agreed upon one thing: it wasn’t big enough. Now those supporters are eagerly awaiting the results of their campaign to rectify that problem.

VMs Vote to Hold Official WCA Basketball Hoops Poll

After a basketball hoops poll was pulled from WOW Online when the publisher learned it wasn’t a WCA requested poll as he had described in the magazine, Westchase Voting Members (VMs) helped resolve the matter at their April 10 meeting. Tackling the historically controversial issue, VMs voted to request WOW post a new poll – one that can this time be accurately called a WCA Basketball Hoops Poll.
