Village Pool Opens May 3; Summer Camp and Swim Lesson Registration Underway
By Janis Smith, Westchase Operations Manager

Attention, all Village swimmers – ready, set and go! May 3 is the opening day for the West Park Village pool. Our staff has been hard at work getting everything cleaned and ready for another summer season. You will see new pavers on the pool deck and a new paint job on the buildings. Until May 29 the pool will close at 7:30 p.m. Then from May 30 forward the pool will be open until 8:30 p.m. for your swimming pleasure.

The staff has been hard at work designing programs for this summer season. Tennis offers many options for children and adults. There are group lessons for all adult ability levels. Camp and tennis-only lessons are available for youth 5 and older and private lessons are available year round. The tennis facilities at Countryway are looking terrific with the new “U.S. Open Blue” courts, new fences, new drainage and landscaping. Even a new shade structure has been installed, just in time to protect players from the summer sun and heat.

Summer camp and swim lesson registration is underway! Don’t miss out – both programs have already filled some sessions. Make your plans now and register as soon as possible to reserve your spot for a summer of fun and learning at the Westchase Swim and Tennis Center. Camp rules require kids to be age 5 or older to participate and we have half-day and full-day options. We also offer the opportunity for kids in the program to take tennis lessons and swim lessons during the camp day. You must sign up ahead of time, and notify staff that you’ve signed up for lessons to be certain your children get to classes on time. Field trips will be on Wednesday this summer and we are hard at work confirming those locations and dates. As a special bonus
we will be offering camp this summer over the week of the Fourth of July. It will consist of a four-day week with Friday, July 4, off.

Can you tell we are very busy? We hope to create “a summer to remember” that will be safe and fun for the whole family here at Westchase!
