Thanksgiving Food Drive Nov. 23

WOW’s Thanksgiving Food Drive has grown to become the largest single-day food drive benefitting Metropolitan Ministries. That is a point of pride in our communities and this year,  Metropolitan Ministries needs our support to ensure no family goes hungry this holiday season.

Below is everything you need to know to take part in this year’s drive

When: Sunday, November 23. Donation pick-up begins at 1 p.m.

Where: Participating communities include Westchase, Highland Park, Mandolin, South Hampton, Tree Tops, Windsor Place, Westchester, West Hampton, Westwood Lakes and Waterchase.

What is needed: Listed at the bottom of this post is a suggested shopping list. Whether you can contribute one item or the whole meal, your donations matter. Any non-perishable items will be accepted. If you are donating from your pantry, please just check expiration dates.

How to donate: On Nov. 23, if your neighborhood is listed above, simply place your donations at the end of your driveway or by your mailbox before 1 p.m. Our team of volunteers will distribute reminder flyers the weekend before the drive. Please attach those to your donations. Please do not leave donations in alleys. If you are donating a frozen turkey, please put donations out as close to 1 p.m. as possible. Our team of volunteers will drive by to pick up your donations.

Where to drop off donations early: If you are leaving town and would like to donate early or if you live outside the neighborhoods listed above, you can drop your donations at the following locations. Please attach the food drive flyer and write the name of your neighborhood and subdivision at the top, so that your donation is added to your neighborhood’s collection count. Please DO NOT drop turkeys off early due to lack of freezer space.
