VM Annual Meeting Sees Four Candidates for Four Board Seats

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Westchase Voting Members reappointed two incumbents and approved two new Westchase Community Association (WCA) Directors at what many in attendance referred to as “the shortest VM meeting ever.”

Four of the board’s seven seats were open for election and while there were five challengers originally, West Park Village resident Michele Del Sordo decided not to run again. Thus only four unchallenged nominees remained.

The new board members include Greens resident Joaquin Arrillaga, West Park Village resident Jim Brinker, and returning directors, Kingsford’s Shawn Yesner and Radcliffe’s Keith Heinemann.

Arrillaga has served on the WCA Board in the past as well as the Modifications Committee, Covenants Committee, Document Review Committee and Nominating Committee. A board newcomer, Brinker currently serves as the HOA president for the Classic Townhomes of West Park Village as well as its VM. Heinemann has been a long-time WCA director and Radcliffe VM and Yesner has served on the board since 2018, serving as WCA President for the past year.

The four join sitting board members Eric Holt of Radcliffe, Dale Sells of Harbor Links/The Estates and Heather Greeley-Hessefort of Keswick Forest.

The board will meet briefly on Thursday, Sept. 13 to select its officers for the coming year.

At the VM meeting, Vineyards VM Lynn Adamson asked who would be heading up the committee to review the WCA’s facility rules in Del Sordo’s absence. Many in the audience expressed a hope that Del Sordo would continue to do so and she confirmed that she would be able to focus on that committee now.

West Park Village VM Mary Griffin asked who would be in charge of the WCA’s Westchase Chronicles Facebook page. Yesner said the board would discuss it at their next meeting but that he thought it likely that the WCA board president and vice president would be the administrators for the page.

The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
