Westchase Community Association (WCA) President Shawn Yesner announced that both Westchase pools, that at the Westchase Swim and Tennis Center on Countryway Boulevard and West Park Village Swim and Tennis Club’s pool on Parley Drive, will reopen on Friday, May 8, at 10 a.m.
Yesner added, “We are not yet able to reopen Early Swim (at 5 a.m. or 7 a.m.) because we still lack sufficient staff to safely monitor those programs. That is NOT to say those programs are canceled, only that we lack staff to reopen those programs at this time. The WCA Board asks all neighbors to be respectful of our staff, specifically the lifeguards. We are all concerned about safely reopening and returning to ‘normal.’”
Yesner emphasized that new social distancing measures will be in place for safety. “We will follow all CDC, federal, state and county rules regarding social distancing, cleaning pool chairs between use, etc.,” he stated. “We require all neighbors who use the pool to practice social distancing and be respectful to other neighbors waiting to get in the water.” He added that residents will need to listen to the directions of the Facilities Manager and lifeguards.
“Everyone stay safe while our local community, the county, and the state of Florida slowly reopen,” he added.
The WCA’s announcement follows their May 4 reopening of the WCA’s tennis courts in West Park Village (The ones at the Westchase Swim and Tennis Center remain closed for resurfacing.).
To reserve tennis courts, residents must use the online court reservation system detailed here: httpss://westchasewca.com/images/uploads/Westchase%20Tennis%20Reservation%20Courts%20Users%20Guide.pdf.
