Fall Outings in Tampa Bay

Fall is official here and the cooler temperatures have many looking for ways to get back out into the world safely.

Below we offer a list of fall/Halloween events that tout themselves as encouraging social distancing and masks. As always, we encourage individuals to take their own precautions by following CDC guidelines.

Drive-In Movies at Armature Works

Dates: Nightly, Oct. 15-Nov. 1
Hours: 7:30 .p.m. and 10 p.m.
Location: Armature Works parking lot, 1910 N. Ola Ave., Tampa

Armature Works is teaming up with Roof Top Cinema Club to bring drive in movies to The Heights. Starting Oct. 15, you’ll be able to catch your favorite movies with two show times every night through Nov. 1. Family-friendly screenings will take place at 7:30 p.m. followed by a second screening for the night owls at 10 p.m. Ticket prices will start at $22 per vehicle, regardless of occupancy. Parking will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis depending on ticket type, and audio can be picked up through local FM stereo. Guests can order concessions or food and drinks from Armature Works online from their vehicles and will be notified for pick up. Hyde Park Pumpkin Patch

Dates: Daily through Sat, Oct. 31
Hours: Mon-Fri, noon-6 p.m.; Sat, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun, noon-5 p.m.
Location: Hyde Park Village, South Tampa

The Pumpkin Patch returns to Hyde Park Village with a socially distant spin. Pop by the patch to find your perfect pumpkin, daily though Oct. 31. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch to benefit The Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Zoo Tampa’s Creatures of the Night

Dates: Select nights through Oct. 31
Hours: 4-10 p.m.
Location: Zoo Tampa

Zoo Tampa brings back their popular Creatures of the Night event with enhanced health and safety measures. The mostly outdoor event will take place for 11 select nights through Oct. 31. This year’s family friendly event is themed around campfire tales and features several new outdoor Halloween experiences and spooky characters. Due to limited capacity, date-specific tickets and reservations with timed entry are the best way to guarantee admission. Riverwalk Virtual Halloween Hunt

Dates: Oct. 17-Nov. 1
Hours: The hunt can be done any time of day; tech support available Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Location: Along the Riverwalk, downtown Tampa

The Riverwalk Halloween Hunt is a family-friendly, not-too-spooky virtual scavenger hunt along the Tampa Riverwalk that you can complete any day between Oct. 17 through Nov. 1. Individuals and teams will compete to be the first place HalloWinner! Solve riddles, puzzles, tasks and explore the beautiful Riverwalk in this safe, outdoor Halloween activity fun for all ages. First Annual Halloween Boat Parade

Date: Saturday, Oct. 24
Hours: 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Location: Viewing available at points along the Riverwalk, downtown Tampa

Enjoy this brand new Tampa Bay Halloween tradition with your friends and family. Pick your favorite spot along the Riverwalk to watch the parade of boats decked out in their Halloween décor, as they compete for prizes. Registration fees for participating boats will benefit the National Pediatric Cancer Fund.

Private Ghost Tours at Tampa Theatre

Dates: Oct. 1-31
Hours: By appointment only; see website for available times
Location: Tampa Theatre, downtown Tampa

Why is Tampa Theatre known as one of the most haunted buildings in town? Take the Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tour to find out. This is a 75-minute walking tour that covers all three levels of the building, sharing stories and evidence of the historic movie palace’s ghostly guests, preternatural patrons and eternal employees. This year, these popular tours will be available by appointment only for your private family, coven, quarantine circle or horde of 10-20 souls.
