The Westchase Community Association Board of Directors has selected Dwight Kilgore to take on the role effective Aug. 6.
Kilgore replaces Kelly Shires, who resigned at the end of July. In his new role, Kilgore will be responsible for maintenance and rules enforcement at the Westchase swim and tennis centers, as well as the hiring, training and supervision of the facilities’ lifeguards and summer camp program staff.
“We had many great candidates apply for the position,” said WCA Board President, Shawn Yesner. “Dwight’s experience with facility management, his knowledge of swim and tennis, and his personable nature caused him to stand out amongst all of the applicants. I’m excited to see what new energy and ideas Dwight brings to the facilities here at Westchase!”
Kilgore has lived in Tampa since 2001. He attended Robinson High School and graduated from the University of South Florida in 2013 with a degree in elementary education. During his time at USF, Kilgore began working for the City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department in aquatics. Upon graduation, he realized aquatics was his true calling and has been managing pools for the city ever since.
Kilgore noted that he had been looking for the next step in his career when he came across the posting for the position in Westchase. “I was drawn to Westchase. The size of the community seemed like a great match for me, and I thought my skill set would be a good fit,” Kilgore said. “I’m really looking forward to the job and I hope I can provide a quality service for the community.”
Kilgore will be on hand at the final Tijuana Flats Bash at the West Park Village swimming pool on Sat, Aug. 6 from 1-3 p.m. (weather permitting). Stop by and say hello and grab a free taco while you’re at it!
WOW extends a warm welcome to Dwight. Welcome to the Westchase family!
