The Elf on the Shelf recently released Santa Claus’s Sleigh manifest from the North Pole. Looks like that Jolly Old Soul will be delivering several new bikes to many lucky girls and boys of all ages in Westchase.
While Santa’s generosity is always appreciated there are indications that parents are wondering what to do with the old forgotten bikes that are taking space in the garage. The Westchase Rotary has your solution!
On Saturday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. the Westchase Rotary Club will conduct their Annual Charitable Bike Drive. The bike drive will be held in front of Westchase Impact Martial Arts, located at 13038 Race Track Rd. Tampa FL, 33626.
The Rotary Club will have the help of some of our brightest and best future leaders, students from Westchase Impact Martial Arts and Sickles High School Interact Club. There will be plenty of hands available in order to get the bikes out of the donors’ cars.
Last year the Rotary Club collected more than 185 bikes of all shapes sizes. The bikes undergo minor repairs and pass a safety check. The children’s bikes will be given to kids affiliated with child welfare organizations. The adult bikes will be delivered to Bethesda Bike Ministry in Tampa and provided to less fortunate individuals who will use them as primary form of transportation.
Please bring out your old bikes on Jan. 8, and help the Westchase Rotary make it a Happy New Bike Year for someone less fortunate.
