Three WCA Board Seats to be Filled During Sept. 9 Election

The annual meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. marks the Westchase Voting Members’ (VMs) election of the Westchase Community Association (WCA) Board of Directors. Each will serve a two-year term. Current WCA directors whose terms expire this year are Michiel Oostenbrink, Terry Boyd and Rick Goldstein. At the time this issue went to press, only Oostenbrink was seeking re-election. His bio, along with those who expressed interest in the positions to date, appear below in alphabetical order. During the Aug. 12 VM Meeting, VMs voted to amend the rules regarding the nomination of candidates from the floor on election night as follows:

  • Candidates shall consist of previously Declared Candidates and, in the event the number of Declared Candidates does not meet the number of available Board of Director positions to be elected, then additional candidates may be nominated from the floor at the Annual Meeting.  If the number of Declared Candidates meet or exceed the number of available Board of Director positions to be elected, additional candidates may not be nominated from the floor at the Annual Meeting.
  • Declared Candidates are those who declare themselves to the Nominating Committee no later than noon, 5 days prior to the September Voting Member Meeting by submitting their names to the Nominating Committee and WCA Manager.

For the purpose of the 2025 election, the final date to declare candidacy to the nominating committee is noon, September 4, 2025. Candidate bios (250 words or less) should be submitted to Nominating Chair Jessica Siddle at jsiddle@westchasewca.com, and WCA Manager Jennifer Jordan at manager@westchasewca.com.

My wife, daughter and I have lived in Westchase for over 6 years, first living in the townhouses in Westpark village and now living in a house in The Shires.  We moved here from Michigan because he had family living here in Westchase and Clearwater and wanted to be closer to them.  We love living in Westchase and think it is a great community with great people.   Before having a pool, we frequently used the WCA pool, and my daughter spent 3 years at the Westchase Summer Camp.

I have a lot of experience serving on community and business boards and am involved with Davidsen Middle School, serving on the School Advisory Council, the PTSA and volunteering at many events.  For the last 16 years I have been on the Board of Directors of Cornerstone Community Credit Union, which is a $400 million C.U. with multiple branches, serving as a voting director, Secretary and currently Treasurer.  I also served as the Vice President on the board for the Homeowners Association, where we lived in Michigan.

I am a Sourcing and Contracting Manager in pharmaceuticals and have been in procurement most of my career, primarily in the automotive industr,y until I went into pharma when I moved here to Tampa.  I have a bachelor’s degree in finance and am currently in school working on my MBA.

The reason I am running for a seat on the WCA Board of Directors is I would like to be able to contribute my time and experience to my community to make it a better place for everyone.  I feel that listening to the members of the community and being able to represent them by voting on what their needs and wants are a way that I can do this.

Michiel Oostenbrink

Hello, Westchase! I am seeking re-election to the WCA Board of Directors. My wife, Vicki, and I have been proud Westchase residents since 2018, raising our three young children, ages 7, 4, and 2. I have served our community as Brentford’s Voting Member since 2020, WCA Treasurer (2023–2024), and currently as Board President. Since joining the Board, I’ve dedicated 2,000+ volunteer hours to improving our Association’s operations, finances, and long-term planning.

Financial Stewardship

  • As Treasurer, brought operational spending back in line with budget.
  • Closed FY 2024 within 0.01% of our $1.5M budget after prior years ran significantly over.
  • Launched Strategic Reserve Review process to create a long-term plan for optimizing the replacement of Association assets.

Operational Improvements

  • Capital Improvement Projects Completed: WPV pool deck/slide upgrades, resurfacing, bathroom renovations (CW), tennis LED lighting conversions, new pool heaters/coolers (WPV), and new bench seating.
  • Established Document Review Committee to review our governing documents and guidelines.
  • RFP Committee – instrumental in developing and drafting the RFP technical requirements now fully embedded in our property management contract.

Property Management Transition

When Greenacre exited, I secured a new management partner, Inframark, (in just 15 days!), led the hiring of our Community Association Director, and developed operational strategies to position us for long-term success.

I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, but much work remains—especially in completing our management transition and enhancing community services. I ask for your vote to allow me to continue to be the continuity that keeps our community moving forward.

As a proud Westchase resident and passionate community advocate, I am seeking your support to once again serve on the Westchase Community Association Board of Directors. With deep roots in service, both professionally and personally, I bring a unique combination of experience, legal knowledge, and dedication to the continued success of our neighborhood.

My career as a Paralegal and licensed Florida Title Agent allows me to work daily with contracts, regulations, and property law—skills that directly support the governance and oversight required of a board director. I currently handle both commercial and residential real estate closings and work closely with attorneys, lenders, and realtors across the region. I understand the intricacies of community covenants, deed restrictions, and homeowner concerns—and I know how to navigate them with fairness, clarity, and efficiency. I have previously served on this Board, as well as represented our neighborhood as a Voting Member. That experience, combined with my continued service on numerous nonprofit boards, reflects my enduring commitment to leadership and public service.

Whether it’s mentoring youth, supporting veterans, or preserving the heritage of our neighborhoods, my heart is always rooted in community. Westchase is more than where I live—it’s where I lead, serve, and invest my time, talent, and treasure. I would be honored to bring that energy back to the Board to ensure Westchase remains Florida’s most desirable suburb. Thank you for your consideration and the opportunity to serve again.
