A Guide to Tampa Bay Farmers Markets

As the temperatures start to cool down just a little, it’s the perfect time to check out the various markets in Tampa Bay. Not only will you find everything from fresh, locally sourced produce to handcrafted jewelry, but you will also support local artists, farmers and vendors. Plus, it’s a fun way to get out and explore different corners of the city. Below are just a few of our favorite local markets.

Westchase Locale Market

Location: Westchase Town Center

Dates: Second Saturday of the month

Hours: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Westchase residents can take a short drive (or walk or bike ride) to this monthly market, which kicked off for the season in September. Shop for plants, clothing, handcrafted jewelry, pet supplies, baked goods and more while enjoying live music.

Sweetwater Sunday Market

Location: Sweetwater Farm, 6942 West Comanche Ave., Tampa

Dates: Every Sunday, Oct. 30-May 14

Hours: noon-3 p.m.

Enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, and fresh air while shopping from local vendors and the Sweetwater Farm Stand. Freshly picked produce and artisanal goods every Sunday!

Corey Avenue Sunday Market

Location: 300-398 Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach

Dates: Sundays

Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

This St. Pete-based market features local vendors selling a wide variety of items including produce, plants, take home foods, eco-friendly and fair-trade products, and more.

Dunedin Downtown Market

Location: Dunedin History Museum parking lot (through Oct. 31); Pioneer Park (beginning Nov. 5)

Dates: Saturdays

Hours: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Dunedin Downtown Market is currently being held in the parking lot of the History Museum on Main Street but will move to nearby Pioneer Park in November. Follow them on Facebook (Dunedin Downtown Market) for updates. Find everything from sustainable goods like reusable straws to locally sourced honey and handmade soap.

Fresh Market at Wiregrass

Location: Wiregrass Shopping Center, corner of State Road 56 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, Wesley Chapel

Dates: First and third Saturdays of the month

Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

This market features over 40 vendors selling everything from locally made candles and rum cakes to dog treats and fresh fruit.

Hyde Park Village Fresh Market

Location: Center of Hyde Park Village in South Tampa

Dates: First Sunday of each month

Hours: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Fresh Market is a monthly farmers market featuring over 120 local vendors including produce, handcrafted goods, plants and more. While you shop and stroll, enjoy live music by local artists.

Carrollwood Market

Location: Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Rd., Tampa

Dates: Second Saturday of each month

Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

This Market supports 70-100 vendors and caters to the greater North Tampa Area including Carrollwood, Northdale, Town and Country, Westchase and Lutz.

Seminole Heights Sunday Market

Location: Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, 6111 N. Central Ave., Tampa

Dates: Second Sunday of each month

Hours: noon-4 p.m.

Head to Seminole Heights the second Sunday of the month to shop for fresh produce, baked goods, pet products, unique gift items and more!

Ybor City Saturday Market

Location: Centennial Park, Ybor City

Dates: Saturdays

Hours: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Operating since 2000, the Ybor City Saturday Market is the largest continually operating outdoor market in Tampa Bay. It offers a unique opportunity for customers to meet the artist as well as see one-of-a-kind pieces created in the artist’s booth as well as purchase locally produced gourmet foods.

Sunshine Market at Midtown

Location: Midtown Commons area of Tampa

Dates: Fourth Saturday of the month

Hours: 10 a.m.-2p.m.

Head to the recently revitalized Midtown area of Tampa to browse the wares of over 40 local vendors and makers selling everything from fresh fruit to one-of-a-kind works of art.

Second Sunday Art Walk + Vendor Fair

Location: Armature Works, 1910 N. Ola Ave., Tampa

Dates: Second Sunday of the month

Hours: 11a.m.-3p.m. 

This monthly event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. features a rotating cast of artisanal artists and makers selling handmade goods, jewelry, art, wood-work, gifts and more in the Gathering space at Armature Works.

Summer Night Exchange at Westshore Marina District

Location: Westshore Marina District

Dates: First Wednesday of the month

Hours: 6-10 p.m.

Tampa’s newest market takes place in the cooler evening hours and features over 30 vendors, artisans and crafters. Enjoy live music while you shop and check out the local restaurant scene while you are there.
